Inviting people to your server
You can invite other players to help run your server from the Wumpo console. You choose exactly who gets access and how much they can do, and you can remove anyone at any time.
Roles
Every person with access has a role. From most to least access:
- Owner. You. The owner pays for the server, earns Wumpo Points, and is the only person who can change the plan, manage billing, turn always-on on or off, or shut the server down. There is one owner per server.
- Admin. Everything an operator can do, plus: send console commands, restore a backup, and invite, remove or change the role of other people with access. Admins cannot touch billing or shut the server down.
- Operator. Can run the server day to day: start, stop and restart it, take a backup, kick or ban players, change world settings, and manage Discord notifications. Operators cannot send console commands, restore a backup, or manage who has access.
- Read-only. Can see the dashboard, live status, players and backups, but cannot make any changes.
Billing, plan changes, always-on and shutting the server down are always owner only, whatever role someone else holds.
Inviting someone
Open World settings and find People with access. This section is visible to the owner and to admins.
- Enter the person's email (optional), a display name for them (also optional - for example "Mom"), and pick the role you want to give them.
- Select Create invite.
You get a shareable invite link. You can copy the link and send it however you like (for example in your Discord), and if you entered an email address we also send the invite there for you.
The display name you choose is only a fallback: if the person already has (or later sets) their own name on their account page, that always takes precedence and is shown instead.
Invite links are single use and expire after 7 days. Anyone you have not invited cannot get access, and you can revoke a pending invite at any time before it is used.
Accepting an invite
The person you invite opens the link, signs in or creates a free Wumpo account with any sign-in method (email, Google or Discord), and selects Join server. The server then appears in their console alongside any of their own, marked with their role.
Changing roles or removing someone
In People with access you can change anyone's role or remove their access. Admins can manage operators and read-only members; the owner can manage everyone. Removing someone takes effect immediately and they lose access straight away.
You can also rename someone's display name after they have joined - useful for fixing a typo, or adding a name for someone who joined before you set one. As above, this is shown only until that person sets their own name on their account page, at which point their own choice takes over.
Anyone can also remove their own access to leave a server they were invited to.
Who can invite
The owner and admins can invite people and manage access. Operators and read-only members cannot. An admin can only grant a role below their own, so only the owner can make someone else an admin.
