Rust
Wumpo hosts a vanilla Rust dedicated server. Pick a size, hit deploy, and we install and run everything for you.
This is a vanilla server: no scheduled wipes and no plugins in this release. If your group wants a plugin ecosystem or a wipe schedule, this is not yet the right fit. We plan to expand Rust support over time.
Rust generates a brand-new procedural world for every server, which takes longer than installing the game itself - up to 15-20 minutes on top of the install, depending on map size. Your dashboard stays on the setup screen for the whole thing, so there's nothing to do but wait; it moves on to your live dashboard once the world is actually ready to connect to.
World settings
You choose your map size when you deploy. This is baked in when the world is first created and cannot change afterwards:
- World preset: Chill, Normal or Hardcore. The preset sets the map size and gamemode for you.
- Map size: Small, Medium or Large. Chosen at creation and fixed for the life of the world.
- Map seed: optional. Paste a seed to generate a specific map, or leave it blank for a random one. Set at creation only.
From the World settings panel you can change these at any time:
- Server name.
- Max players, up to your plan's limit.
- Gamemode toggle: Vanilla or Softcore (a gentler death penalty).
Changes apply on the next restart. The dashboard will prompt you to restart when you save.
Two things Rust does not have in this release: there is no join password (vanilla Rust has no built in password lock), and PvP cannot be turned off (Rust is a PvP game by design; the gamemode toggle changes how harsh dying is, not whether PvP happens).
Plans
| Plan | Best for | Players |
|---|---|---|
| Outpost | A small group | Up to 6 |
| Ridge | A bit more headroom | Up to 8 |
| Squad | A large group | Up to 10 |
| Colony | The whole server | Up to 20 |
Rust is not offered on the smallest plans (Nano and Scout). Player counts on Rust start conservative while we build out real usage data, well under what a typical public Rust server runs. We expect to raise these caps over time.
See Plans and pricing.
Connecting
When your server is online, find its connect address on the Overview panel. In Rust, open the F1 console and type client.connect <address>, or add the server directly from the in-game server browser by its name. More detail on Connecting to your server.
